Civil Engineer in Training
We are seeking a Civil Engineer in Training who recognizes that successful site design begins with understanding project goals and translating them into practical, buildable solutions. The position involves assisting in the design and documentation of projects that consider site context, including land use, zoning, and development regulations; physical and natural constraints; stormwater management; circulation for vehicles, bicycles, and pedestrians; and utility availability and layout.
Working closely with senior civil engineers and collaborating with the architectural, mechanical, structural, and electrical design teams, the Civil Engineer in Training will help develop comprehensive site designs that integrate all technical and environmental aspects.
The ideal candidate demonstrates a strong willingness to learn, contribute to project development from concept through construction, and work effectively within a collaborative, team-based environment. Responsibilities include supporting site observation, field documentation, and analysis of existing conditions. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related engineering field

EIT certification a plus or a willingness to work toward it

0 - 4 years' experience in site/civil design

Proficient with some or most of the following software: Civil3D, HydroCAD, & WinSLAMM

Strong technical writing skills

Strong understanding of site design principles, including grading, drainage, and utility layout

Familiarity with land use, zoning, and development regulations

Basic knowledge of stormwater management and erosion control practices

Ability to interpret and apply civil engineering standards, codes, and ordinances

Experience with Civil 3D and related design software

Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities with attention to detail

Skill in analyzing site conditions and performing field measurements or data collection

Ability to collaborate across disciplines with architects, engineers, and planners

Self-motivated with the ability to manage time and meet project deadlines
