The new Russel and Evelyn Fahl Aquatic Center reuses the old Burnworth Pool site (1.24 acres); The existing buildings and pool were demolished to make way for this exciting attraction. The new main entrance is off of the existing high school parking lot to the south, allowing for better access to parking. Four buildings were constructed: pump house (1327 sq.ft.) for the pool equipment, bath house (1170 sq.ft.) for the restrooms and showers, office building with concession stand (1830 sq.ft.), and storage building with outdoor pavilion (1268 sq.ft.). The project includes: a 25 meter competition pool with starting blocks and 1 meter diving board, ‘lily pad’ walk, two 15’ high slides (one open and one enclosed), vortex channel, zero entry area with play structure (including two small slides and a variety of spray features). The surface of the water totals approximately 8223 sq.ft. The facility has concrete deck for chairs, landscaping, and shade structures. In addition to the aquatic facility, an outdoor ice-skating rink was built to enable year around use of the facility.
